A bench rig for measuring force and weight with a 5 kg strain-gauge load cell, the standard setup for load, deflection and calibration experiments.

The mount is the part that matters. A load cell only reads correctly when it's clamped as a true cantilever: fixed rigidly at one end, loaded at the other, with clearance underneath so the beam can actually flex. Get the spacers wrong or bolt it flat to a surface and the readings drift, sit non-linear, or never zero properly, which is the single most common reason these projects don't work. The base and platform in this kit are printed to hold that geometry, so the mechanical side is right before you start.
